While the drive down to China Town was quite a struggle, finding the Coagula Curatorial was very easy. As you wind down Chuck King Road
you could follow the vibrant art galleries, music, and the diverse amount of
patrons enjoying themselves. Once you've arrived in front of the Coagula
Curatorial all you could see is a blank white room with four platforms. Standing on two of the platforms were the
artist Emma Sulkowicz and an ultra-realistic replica of the artist named “Emmatron”.
The other two platforms were there for patrons to come up and ask either the artist
or the Emmatron any questions they may have regarding the art or the artist. In the corner of the room there
was also a small 3D-printed replica of the artist called, “In-Action Figure”.
Other than the Coagula Curatorial, there were several other
art galleries that I visited. One of the other galleries was entirely paintings
and portraits that incorporated a lot of abstract art. Another gallery had a
lot of sculpture’s that continued the gallery to the basement of the building
where alcoholic beverages and snacks were being served. Overall the night was a
very interesting and eye opening experience.
